We’re at the end of summer and the ‘ber’ months are looming. School for the kiddos is coming up so what’s new this week on the crypto space? Here’s a look at the top crypto news curated by yours truly.
1. Crypto regulation is becoming a trend. It brings cryptocurrencies to mainstream acceptance and it’s something that’s gonna happen sooner or later. This week, Toronto based crypto exchange, Coinberry, becomes the “first pure-play” crypto trading platform to achieve regulatory registration in Canada. Yep, “first pure-play” is apt as WealthSimple Crypto got the same approval around a year ago.
Coinberry now fully registered across all provinces and territories.
2. Here’s an interesting read about a Vancouver-based bitcoin miner setting up an operation using a dormant natural gas well in Alberta. It seems like they operated without permission and unfortunately for them, the location is close by an affluent neighborhood that didn’t like the noise.

3. Ok Tim Hortons, We have another unicorn! Victoria, BC based Blockstream has recently raised $266M CAD funding getting a valuation for the company at $4 Billion. CAD. Way to go. That’s a lot of coins.

4. In another cryptocurrency exchange news, US based Coinbase is getting a lot of customer ‘hate’ for their “terrible customer service” according to their customers.

5. Yet again another cyber attack on a Crypto Exchange. Who, where, what? Check it below.
6. US-based Kraken Crypto Exchange is trying to break into Europe.
